I was planning on writing a more detailed and comprehensive entry before I left, but I ran out of time. Turns out the hours fly by when you have a seemingly endless list of things to get in order. It kind of feels like leaving society, in a way. Making sure bills get paid, finishing paperwork I put off, grabbing last minute items, …

I’m on the train now - the Coast Starlight - which will take me to Portland. From there, I’ll grab a rental car, pick up my dad at PDX, then head onwards to Astoria. I’m writing this at around 10pm Monday, and I should arrive in Portland before 4pm Tuesday.

Thanks to everyone who’s wished me luck on this exceedingly ambitious journey. It was great seeing everyone’s faces for the last time in ~3 months.

Special thank you to An: you’ve been more supportive than I could have ever asked for. I’m not sure how you put up with my antics. I guess you like me enough. I hope I can make you feel the same, once this is over.

That’s all for now. I’ll try to make a more detailed post tomorrow 🫡
