Happy Birthday An!
I had a bit of a late start, sort of just bumbling about. I somewhat foolishly had forgot to do my route planning for this section before I lost internet service, so I didn’t know what was I up against. I knew that the road was going to be long, 70 some miles, but I had no elevation profile to go off of. I knew there would be some climbing but not where or how much. It was kind of refreshing and exciting not knowing exactly how things would go!
Anyway, it turned out to be a really long day for me. Around 80 miles of distance and 4200 ft of climbing. I did the usual detours at one of the colorful stinky ponds and Old Faithful, who was kind enough to do the famous spraying thing, though I did wait like 40 minutes I think.

I rolled into the campground close to 8. The hiker/biker sites were almost full! From some brief interactions, I gathered that most of the bikers were on the Great Divide. I made the worst camp dinner so far: 2 packs ramen with mayo and SPAM Lite. Probably a 2/10. It’s a great campground though: Wi-Fi, showers (my first priority), laundry, and restaurants. Shame they put the hiker/biker sites as far away from everything as they could have.
