Nebraska! Today was a chilly day, and pretty much all of it was spent riding through dense misty fog. I chowed down 3 breakfast sandwiches at a little breakfast booth in Lusk. The owner kindly donated a cookie and cinnamon roll to my cause. Once again, I ended up with a headwind the entire way. At this point I was getting used to the headwinds; I also realized that feeling joy over tailwinds was potentially counterproductive, since the pain of losing it and facing headwinds at a moment’s notice takes a serious toll on the mind. Best to just face the winds with indifference.

Nebraksa. I took turns taking photos with a lady who was moving to New Hampshire and taking the scenic (?) route.

Very thick fog.

Descending into the abyss.

A nice little trail leading into Crawford.

I camped at the city park in Crawford for $10. There was no shower, and my tent got battered by sprinklers over night. I had my rainfly on as always so nothing important got wet, but my bike got showered and I ended up getting out of my tent twice over the course of the night to move my bike into drier spots. Green grass = sprinklers. A park with sprinklers is much more like a minefield than a road with big potholes. Pop-up sprinklers are truly impossible to spot.
